The Circuits

England and Wales is divided into regions or "Circuits" for the purposes of the administration of justice.  The Circuits also form the basis for administration of the Bar in England and Wales. The Circuit Bars provide important sources of support, advice and representation for barristers practising in those areas. The Circuits can provide you with information about practising in their area.

Western Circuit Northern Circuit
North Eastern Circuit South Eastern Circuit

Specialist Bar Associations

There are also Bar Associations for different areas of law and practice. These are varied and range from the Criminal Law Bar Association to the Bar Association for Commerce Finance and Industry (BACFI), which represents the interests of employed barristers providing legal services in a commercial environment and also "non-practising" barristers.
